Your impact

As a Lead Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of OpenText's cloud services. You will lead initiatives that enhance system availability, performance, and stability while driving automation and operational efficiency across our cloud platforms.

Working closely with engineering, product, and business teams, you will provide technical leadership in the design and implementation of monitoring, observability, and reliability solutions. You will champion best practices, mentor team members, and help drive a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven decision-making and proactive problem-solving.

As part of a rapidly growing Cloud Application Engineering organization, you will have the opportunity to influence the future direction of our cloud operations, ensuring customers receive a reliable and high-performing experience at scale.

What the role offers

  • Lead the design and implementation of monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions for mission-critical cloud services.
  • Drive reliability engineering initiatives that improve service availability, operational efficiency, and customer experience.
  • Partner with development, platform, and business teams to define and implement operational best practices and scalable solutions.
  • Take ownership of major incidents, root cause investigations, and service improvement initiatives, ensuring long-term reliability gains.
  • Mentor and support fellow engineers, sharing expertise and helping to develop technical capabilities across the team.
  • Work with modern cloud-native technologies, automation frameworks, and large-scale distributed systems in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment.

What you need to succeed

  • Significant experience supporting and operating large-scale Linux-based production environments and distributed cloud systems.
  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, alongside container technologies including Kubernetes and Docker.
  • Expertise in automation and scripting using languages such as Python, Shell, Perl, or JavaScript, with a focus on reducing operational overhead.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring, observability, logging, and APM tools, with the ability to drive proactive reliability improvements.
  • Strong technical knowledge across application architectures, middleware technologies, databases, messaging platforms, APIs, and microservices environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives, influence stakeholders, mentor engineers, and drive resolution of critical production issues in a 24x7 environment.
