Role Summary
The Deal Manager, Cloud Deal Desk supports the sales cycle for OpenText Cloud opportunities by providing commercial guidance, pricing strategies, deal profitability analysis (P&Ls), contract support, and approval management. The role partners closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, Professional Services, and other stakeholders to structure profitable, compliant, and customer-focused cloud transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deal pricing, commercial proposals and P&Ls for new cloud opportunities and renewals.
- Guide opportunities through the quote-to-close process, ensuring compliance with company policies and approval requirements.
- Prepare and support contractual documentation, working closely with Legal and Contracts teams.
- Lead or support commercial and contractual negotiations with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide deal insights and recommendations to sales leadership and senior executives.
- Track regional pipeline activity, contract metrics and deal performance.
- Drive process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency across the sales cycle.
- Act as a subject matter expert on cloud commercial models, pricing and contracting.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in commercial contracting, pricing and negotiation for software and cloud services.
- Strong financial acumen, including P&L analysis and multi-year deal modelling.
- Ability to collaborate across Sales, Legal, Finance, Product, Security and Operations teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation capabilities.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluent English (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, or a related field.
- Advanced degree or professional qualification (Finance, Accounting, Legal) preferred.
- Experience in cloud services, SaaS, or managed hosting environments.
- Familiarity with Salesforce and OpenText products is advantageous.
